Would our customers benefit from a web based forum that provided the ability to post and read discussion threads pertaining to specific topics? Examples: Building Codes, Permitting Process, Utilities, Grading, Homeowners helping Homeowners, etc.

Could have been invaluable to me in situations where I had unusual q's that staff didn't have answers to or had different answers to. Would have loved to post the final hard-earned answers.

I think staff answering any questions or concerns would be the best. In this way, only "good" information would be shared.

I THINK THIS WOULD BE THE GREATEST ASSEST TO YOUR COUNTY HOME PAGE IF WE WERE ALLOWED TO SEARCH AND LOOK THROUGH BUILDING PERMITS AND SUCH CONSIDERING THEY MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE WHEN ONE IS LOOKING FOR A PARCEL NUMBER.

The problem would be the discussions would just be people speculating. It's hard enough getting a response from people @ the county as it is, how would this be different? Nobody @ the county will monitor this, much less respond to questions.

Provide a simple list of home owner repairs that require a permit. E.g., roof repair, irrigation installation, etc..

The first topic I would introduce would be the city's / county's changing standards on masonry fence walls, pool safe and otherwise.

It would be great if there was some way to be able to obtain permits online. Also a section to look to see what permits that you need, and an easy way to look them up.

It would be very helpful. Also, providing a list of previously asked questions and their responses would be helpful.

Yes, it would be extremely helpful. We have so many new homes being constructed very fast and many home sites have too many unlicensed, subcontractors working under the licensed contractors.

As an appraiser, the more information available, the better. Thanks

It would be a great tool for not only public use, but also for us Realtors to have up to date information. As well have more information about rules, regulations, codes, zoning and timely feedback that is less perplexed.

It would be helpful only if staff participated in an official capacity. Otherwise, forums turn into conjecture and what might appear as virtual staff approval would have no significance.

I think this is a great way to make sure people are not going around the law while others are with in the law.

Would like county to take a closer look at neighbors who make complaints after many years.Because they had a fued with you & what was good back then is not now. This is petty and in some cases, such as when they try to sell their home at to high a price.

It would be great if there was also a way to sort or query the threads. That way you wouldn't be scrolling through thousands of threads. And would like to be able to ask building codes staff particular questions and get a timely response. |
